2027 Guam Teacher of the Year 


The Guam Department of Education (GDOE) is now accepting nominations for the 2027 Guam Teacher of the Year (GTOY). This prestigious program recognizes exceptional educators across the district, honoring and supporting their dedication to the classroom and advocacy work.

 

A candidate for Teacher of the Year is an exceptionally dedicated, knowledgeable, and skilled classroom teacher in an accredited GDOE school from pre-kindergarten (Pre-K) through grade twelve (12) who plans to continue in active teaching status. Students, parents, community partners, school administrators, and teachers are invited to nominate a teacher who embodies excellence in teaching.

 

The Guam Teacher of the Year candidate has the respect and admiration of their colleagues and:

●   Must be a full-time classified, certified classroom teacher who actively teaches in the classroom, working for Guam Department of Education schools for 5 years or more.

●  Is an expert in their field who guides students of all backgrounds and abilities to achieve excellence?

●  Collaborates with colleagues, students, and families to create a school culture of respect and success.

●Deliberately connects the classroom and key stakeholders to foster a strong community.

●Demonstrates leadership and innovation inside and outside the classroom, embodying life-long learning.

●  Express themselves engagingly and articulately.

●  Is of good standing in the Department and the community.
