GATE Elementary Program

Every elementary school on Guam provides a GATE academic program, grades kindergarten through 5th. GATE teachers provide 180 minutes of instructional time in a typical school week. These services are provided in different ways, depending on the needs of the students and the school, including the age and/or grade level of identified students. Schools are limited to 60 students per teacher. 

Currently, there are no GATE academic programs at the middle and high school levels. Advanced placement courses, however, are offered through another GDOE department at the high school level. The GATE program may seek resources and funding to expend GATE into the secondary schools.
