RPS3 - RESEARCH PROVEN STRATEGIES for STUDENT SUCCESS
The Guam Department of Education (GDOE) continues to recognize the urgent need to sustain school-wide reform that will enhance the services and streamline instructional programs in Elementary and Secondary schools in English / Language Arts, Math and other content areas.
A high percentage of students within GDOE schools are not performing or progressing at their expected academic levels; the results of data collected indicate that every year a large number of students either drop out of school or graduate ill-prepared for careers or a higher education.
OBJECTIVES
- Increase district capacity – provide teachers and students with the tools necessary for promoting student academic achievement through acquiring consultative services for scientifically research-based intervention programs strategies.
- Assessment and Technology – Develop, implement and utilize data to drive decisions; incorporate technology in the classroom through intervention programs and or best practice models
- Community Partnership – Develop and implement coordination efforts with the community and parents to promote learning, through youth-serving organizations, civic, and/or other community based organizations
