Goals
The goals of the division are: (1) Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of Student Support Services Division (SSSD) in all 41 schools and educational programs at DYA, DAP, and Rays of Hope, (2) Network with outside agencies/organizations to create a safe and conducive learning environment for all 41 schools and educational programs at DYA, D&A, and Rays of Hope, and (3) Keep students healthy, safe, and ready to learn.
Objectives

To provide continuous training and support to teachers and administrators regarding Section 504 services.

To completely review and revise the Student Procedural Assistance Manual (SPAM).

To decrease the number of discipline referrals/incidents by 5% per year through the district wide implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS).

To increase the school attendance rate by 2% per year.

To review and update 400 series Board Policies.

To review and update all 1200 Standard Operating Procedures.

To fully implement the School Crime Stoppers Program in all 41 schools and three additional educational programs (DYA, D&A, Rays of Hope).

To hire a Psychologist each fiscal year to assist in the SBBH initiative.

To establish a framework for School-Based Behavioral Health Initiatives.

To provide assistance to students who are considered homeless and below 200% poverty.
GDOE State Strategic Action Plan Goals
Goal #1: Overarching and most important goal – We want all students who graduate from high school to be prepared for college or career opportunities.
Goal #2: We want our children to progress from grade to grade on track for graduation.
Goal #3: We want high standards of accountability for instructional personnel.
Goal #4: We need to provide safe and supportive environments for our students. (Main focus of Student Support Services Division)
