Guam Education Board Approves Modification to the SY 2021 - 2022 Calendar at the Monthly Board Meeting on September 23
Last night, the Guam Education Board (GEB) approved the recently modified calendar for School Year (SY) 2021 - 2022 at its monthly board meeting on Thursday, September 23, 2021.
In a unanimous vote, the GEB approved a motion to make two modifications to the SY 2021 - 2022 school calendar. The first modification reflected the use of professional development days four (4) through eight (8) from Monday, August 30, 2021, to Friday, September 3, 2021. In accordance with Governor Lou Leon Guerreoro’s Executive Order 2021-21, all public, private, and charter schools suspended in-person instruction on Friday, September 27, 2021. During the week of August 30, teachers, schools, and our familiy stakeholders used that week to prepare students for remote online learning. The second modification on the calendar was the description of the dates scheduled for progress reports and the end of the semesters. The language was revised to so that the languge will align with the description of the updated Curriculum & Grading policy that was unanimoulsy approved by the GEB (8-0) at its monthly meeting on Tuesday, July 20, 2021.
