On March 16, 2020, Governor Lou Leon Guerrero signed Executive Order 2020-04 relative to responding to confirmed cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The Executive Order closes all non-essential Government of Guam Offices, closes all public and private schools, and prohibits large gathering. The continuing concerns regarding the spread of COVID-19, on March 24, 2020, Governor Lou Leon Guerrero extended the social isolation mandate and limiting non-essential businesses and government operations through April 13, 2020 through Executive Order 2020-06.
Due to the unprecedented school closures, the Division of Special Education is committed to providing ongoing guidance and resources as we continue together to navigate and provide support to all our students with their families. With the continued myriad of events caused by the COVID-19 pandemic situation, there should be an understanding that guidance can change quickly as new information evolves. The GDOE Division of Special Education will continue to provide updates regarding the impact of COVID-19 school closures on students with IEPs.
